Hi Everyone!
Dr. Guthals here! In March 2015, ThoughtSTEM was invited to attend Microsoft’s First Minecraft Educators Summit in Los Angeles. This was a great opportunity to get together with 50 other people around the world using Minecraft to teach!
ThoughtSTEM is one of the only organizations teaching Computer Science and Coding with Minecraft, along with MinecraftEDU and some other independent educators. It was really exciting to see all of the great ideas everyone brought to the table, and we were happy to contribute ours as well!
I was also asked to be on a panel about Teacher Professional Development, and the best ways to empower teachers to teach coding with Minecraft, especially when they aren’t coders and don’t play Minecraft! It’s a hard task, but I think we are making great progress in it. 🙂
