Hi Everyone!
I often get asked by adults…so what is Minecraft exactly? I made a blog post back in June describing Minecraft is, you can find it here. This is useful when you don’t have the ability to have someone actually play Minecraft.
But it is a much more powerful statement when you can spend about 1 hour with someone and guide them through playing it a bit…really experiencing what Minecraft is.
So that’s what we will do today! I have made a 25 minute video describing the two modes of playing Minecraft and walking you through a few of the important parts:
- How to walk
- How to mine
- How to create
- How to craft
Before starting this video, make sure you have either downloaded the Mac or PC version of Minecraft from Minecraft.net. Minecraft is $26.95 and once you purchase it once, you can download it on all of your computers – but you can only log in to one computer at a time with your account. You can also try the free demo version here.
I would also recommend setting aside about an hour so that you can pause the video and really play around with the game. That isn’t necessary – but give yourself some time to be a kid again! 🙂
